PEGO THEATRE, ALICANTE – SPAIN
WHERE HEALTHCARE, HOUSING, AND HERITAGE CONVERGE TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF SHANGHAI’S URBAN LANDSCAPE

Conceived as an open and flexible cultural space, the project dissolves the boundaries between theatre and city, transforming
the traditional closed-box model into a dynamic meeting point. Two distinct volumes respond to both urban scale and
functional needs: one compact and technical, the other light, adaptable, and open to the square. The design invites
continuous use beyond performances, integrating terraces, public staircases, and an outdoor auditorium to activate the space
throughout the day. Under the motto “Plaça, Teatre, Encontre,” the theatre becomes a catalyst for civic life, where culture and
community coexist seamlessly.
