URBAN DESIGN 2022

The vision is to create a distinctive staff community that responds sensitively to its landscape while fostering social interaction, efficiency, and long-term resilience. A compact square-based framework adapts to the natural slopes, while a fractal layout draws inspiration from watercourses and wadi formations. Modular construction enables simple, precise, and adaptable building processes, supported by prefabricated kitchens and bathrooms. Residents can personalize their homes, encouraging diversity and a stronger sense of ownership. Sustainable materials—including compressed earth, cross-laminated timber, steel framing, and high-performance concrete—support thermal comfort, natural ventilation, humidity control, and reduced environmental impact.
